  April 10, 2023 - this really was singing tonight - poured like golden treacle - the sweetness is slowly receding so that you don't notice the lack of acidity - so complex, so delicious

  February 5, 2014 - 95 with a positive prospect to 96. (and I can't believe that no one on CT tried it for the last 7 years!)
  
  Beautiful gold color. More on the sweet side than a dry side, which is the reason I am more leaning towards the 95. But it has so much to give on the nose, and a nice medium long finish. I could have enjoyed it by itself. It is more of an second dish wine than a dessert wine, in my opinion. The gold color is 'glory', it seats so well on a meal- it makes the meal upgraded by one or two levels. Should work well with spicy and light food. We had it with some pasta and veggies which did not bring out all its qualities but still was a great add on. And such a relaxing finishing to a stressful day. I will come back to my notes for the aroma details.
  
  Some ref points to Dr. Loosen '05 from the same year we recently had-
  Closer to the dry side- dr. loosen,
  Gold color winner- Zind-Humbrecht,
  finish- hard, they are pretty close, actually even very close,
  on the nose- Zind-Humbrecht,
  on the palate- Dr. loosen,
  
  Both better on the cold side, and not room temp (not 16c). For a full meal, Dr. Loosen, by points and not a major gap. For appetizers and or dessert- Zind-Humbrecht.
  
  Potential growth in cellar- positive prospect, for both. For the Zind-Humbrecht more time would get the taste more mature and slightly more dry, which would work great for my personal preferences.

  April 23, 2007 - The Magical 2005 Vintage at Domaine Zind Humbrecht (Turckheim, Alsace, France): I was especially interested to try this wine to compare with our tasting just about 1 year ago out of barrel while it was still fermenting. The potential of last year has made it to the bottle intact! Huge nose that calls out Gewurz as the varietal with roses and lychee mixes with the effects of botrytis as well as candied citrus. The palate follows suit in terms of flavors but is maybe a little thicker than the Pinot Gris was ( 240g/l vs 219g/l, not sure of the relative acidity measurements ). The thickness never crosses the line to cloying. This will be even better with more time to integrate. 50+14+13+9+9=95+

  May 12, 2006 - A day at Zind Humbrecht (Turckheim, Alsace, France): In what is probably it's first written tasting note, this wine currently shows a cloudy yellow color but seems to be clearing fairly well. Very sweet but with terrific acidity and tremendous richness. A beautiful wine that was picked around 180 Oeschle. Has an extremely fragrant nose at this early stage of evolution. WOW! Thanks Olivier! 50+14+13+9+9 = 95
