  December 14, 2021 - Plum, damson, baked black cherry, vanilla on the nose. All there on the palette alongside some violent chalky tannin and some cedary notes. Beautiful sweet fruit profile. A little hot. Lots to like but expected a bit more from an iconic producer. Time will probably bring it into balance. Unless you like the huge tannin, wait a few years.

  July 18, 2021 - Nose is initially quite fruit forward but everything mellows with time in the glass. There is a bit of pencil shavings, black pepper and other spices. Everything is well balanced but subtle.
  
  On the palate there is ripe red and black fruit, vanilla, oak, more black pepper. Tannins are refined but chalky, drying the mouth instantly before a long, unctuous finish which brings minerality and more spice notes.
  
  This is a very well put together wine, balanced, elegant and drinking very nicely. Great with steak, new potatoes and summer salad.
