April 3, 2019 - "It’s a Zin!" - Flight 6, wine 3 (blind): Medium ruby. The wine offered mixed berries, coffee, intense spice and a hint of coconut on the nose and palate. It tasted fruit-bitter and lacked integration. Needs food. Another big brand that did not show well in today's blind tasting. 87(?) for now.

October 2, 2016 - My Grade VG+. Decidedly old-world in style. Medium cherry color, nose of tart red fruit, black pepper, cloves, incense. Medium bodied, tart raspberry and cherry fruit, black pepper on the palate, bright acidity and firm, fine tannins, good minerality on the mid, lacks body. This is a very good mid-week food wine (went great with Pizza) and offers a refreshing change from big, block-buster Zins, probably better in 2 years (see my profile for grades).
