January 10, 2024 - A medium to full bodied wine with some tar, old leather, dark berries, dark plum aromas. Well structured, great acid tannin balance. No sign of age.

May 23, 2022 - Nice color. Somewhat restrained nose. On the palate a bit tight, reminds on a Pinot noir. Silky Finish but a bit short. Not overly complex. Not sure about drinking window.

May 29, 2020 - Dark purple/ black with no rim clearing
Medium plus aromas of blackberry/ plum with smoke/ tar secondaries and moderate oak notes
Medium plus palate of ripe black fruit with a bitter green aspect
Medium plus acidity and medium plus well integrated tannins
Finish falls somewhat short -

December 24, 2019 - Dark ruby/ purple with mild clearing at rim
Medium plus aromas of blackberry/ plum/ black cherry and hints of menthol with light oak influence
Medium palate of black fruit - again a hollow mid palate
Medium plus tannins which are fairly well integrated
Alcohol highish but not disjointed due to this
The palate does fill up a bit with time in the glass -

December 25, 2018 - PS: Went back to it 5 days later and it was excellent. Give it at least a full day decant before drinking! The thinness that i complained about below completely disappeared. It felt full bodied and w structure to carry a heavy meal, just as i seemed to recall from other Dão ive had over the years. Upping it from 89 to 92.
INITIAL: felt thin. tasty towards the end but lacked distinctiveness. wonder if i didnt let it breath long enough, expected it to be fuller/tastier in the mouth. have some left in the bottle, if doesnt improve overnight will not be buying more at this price ($30 per)1 person found this helpful Comment
