February 2, 2016 - Madeira Pilgrimage; 2/1/2016-2/4/2016 (Madeira): A bit of funky brett on the nose, but also some juicy and vibrant black cherries, dusted with black pepper. Juicy, fleshy and tart on the palate with light-medium tannins and high acid. The crunchy red fruits are laced with spicy tobacco, pepper and olive brine. Interesting and a bit weird, not for the unadventurous. Fun, but not quite balanced. A blend of Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon.
