November 5, 2023 - Medium garnet colour, medium aroma of blackcurrant, plum, black cherry, white pepper, dried herbs, secondary aromas of cedar and smoke. Dry, medium plus acidity, high fine grained tannin, medium body, long finish. Medium flavour intensity of plum, blackcurrant, capsicum, pepper.
Good flavours and intensity, not great balance or complexity.

May 12, 2022 - Deep dense crimson. Dry aroma of dark berries, cigar ash, pepper, cedar. Milk chocolate, blueberry, blackberry, brambles. Smooth start, a bit sour to finish. Full body, medium plus acidity.

March 3, 2021 - NobleRottersSydney - regional Oz shiraz (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 13.5%} [Gordon] A winery which seems to hit the jackpot every now and then with its semillons, but otherwise flies under the radar a bit. No decant. Initially a bit rubbery and reductive, later with mulberry fruit and some typical Hunter earthiness, although hardly mature. Medium weight on the palate, with initially rich, plummy fruit flavours. But the savoury dry aspect comes to the fore, with lots of fine dusty tannins and medium acidity. Medium length finish with good presence along the tongue. A bit more reserved and rustic than the 14 Margan served alongside. Will happily keep a good many years yet with hope of improvement.

March 8, 2020 - Not sure this quite hits the mark for me. Too bright for a '14 Hunter shiraz. The balance isn't there, and when you are paying the rrp you want something that will hit the mark. Disappointing

December 1, 2018 - Medium density colour of crimson plum. Aroma of plum, vanilla oak, sawdust, spice. Light body, plum, cherry, mulberry. Slightly sweet, pepper, spice (cumin, cardamom). Medium tannin, evident in the Long finish. Balanced fresh acidity. Overall a well balanced lighter wine. Doesn’t stand out for me, i was expecting more. Maybe needs more time, but it doesn’t seem to be that i opened it early. Will try the next one in a couple of years to see if it improves.
