February 5, 2024 - Absolute classic northern Syrah. Nose bacon, blueberries, hot stones, some roast meat, lavender, menthol. Not showing tiredness at all. Indeed may well still be on upslope for this palate. Intense, great acid and mineral. No oak obvious. Long finish. Tannins still there. This is truly brilliant wine.

February 12, 2023 - Smoky, meaty nose of sizzling bacon over blueberry jam. Light and feathery, showing excellent acidity. Tart blueberries and tons of pepper. I really like this.

January 16, 2023 - This is syrah as, in my view, it should be. No obvious oak influence. Nose a subtle mix of black pepper, deep dark blueberry and blackberry, lavender, a bit of bacon fat and just a hint of anise. It is complex, it has the depth only old vines can give, and it wasn't screwed up by the vintner. Palate still shows freshness at 9 years, with great acid, developing fruit, just the most basic of tannins, and a very long, mineral inflected finish. This reminds me of Alain Graillot's style of winemaking, and it is beguiling. To me, this hits well above its price point. If you like new world, bold "shiraz", this will not be your bottle. Finish is remarkably long.

November 5, 2021 - Faded burgundy color with orange rim, clearly by the color it’s well aged. Strong raspberry and underbrush with an almost acetone and burning tire edge. Very refined and polished. The nose is very expressive and the palate is very gentle and smooth. Seems past it’s prime or peaked. The low alcohol and myriad of flavors went well with vegetarian chili. I liked it.

September 17, 2021 - I liked this wine. One of those "honest wines" that seems to harken back a bit, cool Syrah fruit with some crunch and herbaceousness. It may have leaned a bit stemmier than it should, but it was very good and the kind of Syrah that is made for the table (as it pretty much all should be IMO!) 12% abv. OK QPR at $27, but not a deal by any stretch.
