April 16, 2024 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape with my boy!; 4/15/2024-4/17/2024 (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône, France): One sniff and I can't help but smile, wow, just wow. The textbook element of licorice, oh my, silky, great length, really balanced, long, just gorgeous, an exceptional wine. So fresh, really exploding with energy and vibrancy, 14.5%

December 29, 2023 - Domaine la Barroche - Cuve Pure Red - 2014. The nose is a complex mixture of black fruits, cherry, spices and some pepper. The wine overall is very elegant, fresh, got some fine tannins and a long great finish. Its made from 100% grenache from a single plot near the wines from Rayas ! Great Job !

Love it !😍😍😍 and soon be there again !

December 15, 2023 - Medium-ruby color, hints of amber, mostly clear, bright tones. Aromas of black cherry, blood orange, cocoa dust, rose hip, nutmeg, along with hints of mushroom and oolong tea. Shows ample ripe cherry, red plum and raspberry fruit, hinting at dried. Richly layered with secondary sandalwood, clove, allspice, smoked cedar, and hints of salted almond. Full and round through the palate, adding some lift as it sees air, with medium overall acidity. Expansive and textured, finishing with full plush tannins and lengthy warm spices and hints of salty bitterness on the finish. Decadent overall, it’s drinking well in moments, but hints at the fruit drying out and being overpowered by structure and alcohol in other moments. Drink now.

    August 25, 2021 - Decanting, please hold

    Poured rather light, pale ruby

Nose is not particularly fragrant but upon close inspection there is ripe, dense red berry, herbs. Second day the aromas woke up a bit and by the third the nose gathered enough power as to be known from the open bottle.

The real standout is the texture on the palate, with a density and power that's really elevated by how silky and almost-but-not-quite the ripeness feels light. Second day showed high tones of cherry and strawberry with a sustained finish of spice, herbs, licorice, an echo of sweetness that doesn't approach cloying.

Tannins have a fine texture the complements the overall silky feel but maintain a firmness that will gently land this between 2025 and 2030.

90 points with room for improvement.

March 24, 2021 - Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; Southern Rhone (@ RW): Beautiful red and dark berries and a touch of pleasant barnyard in the bouquet. On the palate a sweet start of ripe red berries and sweet spices, juicy acidity and round tannin. Beautiful wine already. 93 - 94
