November 16, 2019 - An amazing bottle. Opened slowly, then ultimately showed a beautiful caramelized element, and became downright sexy and delicious. Very very good.

February 18, 2018 - Tampa Spring Break III; 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Tampa FL): From the wine list at Bern's. We all loved the label on this old bottle - the vintage year is actually shown inside the little flag on the castle - how whimsical! Unfortunately this one was showing pretty far over the hill. On the nose lots of earthy, mushroomy funk. On the palate the fruit is gone and this is all about earthiness and mushroom farming. The first sips were the best but the mushroom flavors begin to overwhelm the glass after a bit. We enjoyed it as we thought about what was happening in the world during the roaring '20's - and how this bottle was probably in the private cellar of some english lord.

February 18, 2018 - Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): How can one not order a super old Bordeaux at Berns? And so we did. Served alongside a 42 Ausone and a 57 Grad Puy Ducasse. This was wearing it's age some. A bit moldy and mushrooms and all of that. Touch of funk. Finished quickly. Not a wine to hang out over too much time with.

February 28, 2016 - 24-Hour Tampa Blitzkrieg; 2/27/2016-2/28/2016: Deep crimson in the glass. Strong farm / barn nose, still great to drink but possibly a little too rustic for some. Quite vibrant on the palate and still has big tannins. Tingling minerals through the palate on top of mature and robust currant and blackberry.
