January 21, 2023 - Pop and pour. Notes from day 2 open. Significantly gamier and rustically styled than the Gerin. Charming in its own rough way. Soft black fruit, but loads of game and wild herbs ,and a touch of olive. On the palate: a touch rustically styled, lovely acidity, fantastic density, black fruit, but grainy tannin and black olive. Still, very yummy.

    August 17, 2022 - Bought on release
cork was good but not perfect
I did not take technical notes but I have a good memory : )
    decanted for 2 hours

robe - this was actually surprising. the color was youthful but not as dark as I would have thought. Surely could see my fingers through it
nose - it was slightly muted with notes of red and dark fruit. slightly slightly gamey
palate - The first note is the soft tannins in this wine. I had thought that it might be a tannic wall perhaps. they are present but surely not obtrusive . the palate is long and it has a freshness too. I would say that it probably lacks the density that this cuvee might cary in a vintage as in 15 or 16 but that is ok. this will surely be drinking earlier than those. the balance is there, nothing is poking out but it also does not have the depth that other vintages do.
i have 5 more bottles of this and i will open another in 2 or 3. i feel by then, it should start showing more of it's address than it is now.
be patient , this will be nice in the future and bring along a higher score if those things are of importance

February 21, 2020 - This was better than expected given the recent vintage, and the fact it doesn't have the best reputation. Open immediately after a short decant, the wine was cool, poised and delicious. Fruit is very dark and there's an almost metallic quality - although this is more sophisticated than the more typically encountered N Rhone 'blood and iron'. Should be an interesting wine to follow, and makes me glad to have some 2014s in the cellar.
