October 29, 2023 - This was very reminiscent of a 2014 Immortal Estate Impassable Mountain that we tried at the fancy-pants Tusk house in Napa. Except this time I got to share a whole bottle with a generous friend who had already decanted it 2 hours. Layers of savory flavors, blue fruit, peppers, chocolate, tons of structure that will likely continue to age well. While the flavor is full, there isn't much for secondary/tertiary flavors, which makes it hard for me to score. But the structure and the fruit are undeniable, which makes it even more impressive since its 10 years old. To me, this is a wine you want to sleep with but not marry.

October 27, 2023 - 2 hour decant - Great wine from a great vintage! Still drinking quite young, even with a 2 hour decant! This wine still has years ahead of it!

TN: Nose was perfumed and showed lots of blueberries and dark fruit. Palate also showed lots of blue and black fruit with some spice, and notes of tar and anise, with hints of earth. Tertiary flavors were definitely in the background and the fruit had center stage. Very structured and certainly has the tannins, acidity and fruit to age gracefully for quite a few years! 96 points right now, but should improve.

June 18, 2023 - Decanted for well over an hour. Had with grilled and pan seared filet mignon. Wine advocate scored this wine at 100 points. This bottle was far from that score. Inky dark purple-black hue and an inviting nose of black currents, blackberry jam and some herbal essence. Medium to full bodied with moderate fruit up front and relatively soft tannins on the finish. The finish was a bit short and not very memorable. Therefore leaving me perplexed as to the high scores. Perhaps I just had an unlucky bottle. But this wine was impeccably stored and wasn't flawed. I based my score more on the wine's pedigree as it's a pretty generous score considering. The only memorable aspect is that I was expecting a 100 point wine and it didn't deliver. Probably should hold at this point.

October 14, 2022 - Absolutely stunning!! Purchased 3 at Auction and couldn’t be more pleased with the results with the 1st bottle opening.

Decanted for 1 hour. The tannins were firm but not overwhelming. The nose was very aromatic … notes of graphite and dark chocolate. The taste was opulent … notes of blackberry and black cherry.

Ultra smooth and velvet like, this wine is a classic all the way and will impress your guests … as it did mine.

March 4, 2022 - Tremendous nose of dark and red fruit, firm but pleasant tannins with a hint of sweetness. Full bodied and powerful, but not overpowering. Balanced, well made and finishing strong and long. Very enjoyable wine.
