March 13, 2024 - Pol Roger Wine Society 150th Anniversary Tasting (Churchill War Rooms): Poured from bottle. Zero dosage. Deep colour. Slightly baked apple nose but this character isn't reflected on the palate. Acid / fruit to the fore here but it's not angry, just a little short. The PR representative told us "a wine that only global warming makes possible".

December 25, 2023 - Much lighter and more delicate than I expected. Not much brioche; some fruit, definitely acid. OK but nothing special so disappointing considering the price.

December 20, 2023 - Pale gold colour. Small and lively bubbles. Medium (-) and developing nose with ripe green apples, lemon, toast, brioche, chalk, biscuit and wet stone. Medium (-) taste of green apples, lemon, toast, chalk and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Extra Brut Champagne. Needed 15 min in the glass to open. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well as an aperitif, or with shellfish.
