November 5, 2022 - From a perfect looking bottle, this wine had a light gold/deep yellow center and clear rims. The nose was nice at first but after 3+ hours of air it was high- intensity with lemon zest, almond paste, pear, white stone, and apples.

In the mouth, this was fresh but a bit disjointed at first. After 3 hours of air it was rich and ripe but with firm integrated acidity and outstanding length.

This bottle was clearly much fresher than the bottle I had last weekend. While mature, it would hold at this level for at least 5 years. This was Grand Gru quality!

October 30, 2022 - From a perfect bottle, this wine had a deep yellow/light gold center. The nose was somewhat tight and first and took several hours to open up. It offered up dried pear, honey, lemon oil, and white stone.

This opened up nicely with air. It was very ripe, on the verge of overripe and had great weight, acidity, and length.

This was clearly fully mature and should be drunk ASAP. This bottle was a low end 95 due to its extreme ripeness which made it seem just a bit out of balance.

    August 6, 2022 - Fun trio of 88, 89, and 92 Ruchottes.
The 88 was close to over the hill for me, particularly on the nose. The palate did provide a modicum of joy. The group was split, with a few enjoying it much more than others.
The 89 was mature, exotic, delicious, and by objective tasting measures should have been WOTF.
But the 92 was, for my tastes, a perfect and enticing bottle from the first sip. We kept contrasting it to the 89, which had so much going. But the 92 was simply divine

March 6, 2020 - Zachy's La Paulee 2020; 3/5/2020-3/6/2020 (Le Bernardin Prive): Aged but not tired, great density, stony fruit, some brightness. 93
