July 23, 2023 - Aerated 60min decant. Packed with dense ripe dark fruit and exotic spices that, with firm but integrated tannins, are in mouth filling balance. No heat from the 15% alc but undoubtedly contributes to the sheer massiveness of this wine. No subtlety here but nonetheless excellent - and good accompaniment to my calf liver and king oyster mushrooms.

Deep garnet, hint of purple. Long legs in the glass.
Big nose, black current, blue Berry, cedar bordering on creosote, spice. Prickled the nose.
In the mouth fruit predominates, sweet on the tip of the tongue, good acidity, not particularly mineral, expecting more tannin but well balanced (with food), hot (14%), dry and fruity finish.
Good with strongly flavoured food (cottage pie). -
