Community Tasting Notes 5

September 1, 2023 - Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Wimps - Racine (La Trompette): real depth and intensity here - this is a grown up wine for sure. A little more austere than I’d expect from an 02 perhaps, but there’s oomph here. I’d love to contemplate half a bottle of this over the course of an evening.

October 31, 2021 - Burgundy Wimps October 2021 Berlingots (La Trompette): Really great - this last pair of wines was superb. Grander tasting, clearly lots left in the tank - I could easily have believed that this was the 2005 rather than the 2002. This kind of wine is what makes burgundy so special.

October 29, 2021 - Burgundy Wimps Friday 29th October 2021 (La Trompette): Mature, slightly medicinal nose, still seemed youthful on the palate, lovely balance and poise through to a fresh finish. Very nice, just slightly pipped by the M-M CV for me because I preferred the richness and depth on that wine, but this was probably more refined / classier and would have been great to try on its own.
