December 13, 2020 - Maybe a year too soon but I don’t regret much. Gorgeous scents of peaches and honey with lots of limestone/wet rock scents coming out together. It took about 20 minutes for the flavours to somewhat catch up. Really clean, pure and very bright notes of lemons, honey, dried clementines, apricots and diesel. The finish isn’t the longest which I think means it’ll take another year or two to really start opening itself up. I’d call this a lightly sweet wine. Definitely tasty with some American old bay seasoned salmon filets.

December 27, 2019 - Fairly sweet, spicy citrus, medium weight. Gorgeous fruit but pretty simple right now.

October 10, 2019 - Coravin. Yellow; aromatic, petrol, slight tropical fruit, slight slate; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus fresh acidity, off-dry (consistent with spatlese), pear, a bit simple but well balanced and vibrant acidity makes it a good pairing; medium finish with slight lemon-lime. Largely similar to my last bottle 2 years ago, good and enjoyable but nothing that stands out as particularly special. 90

November 4, 2018 - A lovely riesling, with moderate sweetness buffered by good acidity.

NOSE: powdered donuts; powdery lime; quinine; hint of petrol; light frozen orange juice note emerged after 1.5 hours.

BODY: medium bodied; pale yellow color.

TASTE: high acidity --- nervy, especially for a Donnhoff; lightly tropical; gooseberry/green grapes mix; light to medium-light mineral on the finish; proper Spat. --- really, almost drinks like a Kabinett; moreish --- insanely easy to drink; 9% alc. not noticeable; faint sense of saltiness, or umami. Some may find it too acidic, but I love the nervy energy that cuts through the r.s. in this wine. Very impressive. Drink or Hold.
