August 28, 2019 - This was a little surly when first decanted, but ended up showing well. Cherries and citrus zest, leather, spice. Good finish, and I was happy to have with the lamb, beef, and duck. B+

September 28, 2017 - A few people thought drying out, but I really enjoyed. Tangy, perfumed, spicy, citrus zest, good length. A-

July 1, 2016 - Mid to full garnet. Quite dense at the core. leather and coffee ground nose; similar on palate, quite dense, slightly diffuse, coffee ground with mellow dark red fruit. Reasonably bright on the finish. A good not great bottle of this. ****

September 26, 2015 - Served alongside the 82. Mid to full garnet. Some richness on the nose, shows a touch of orange peel but the profile is more in the worn leather spectrum. A nice depth and richness to the fruit with the characteristic acidity carrying it. Through to a quite persistent and long finish. Holds well in the glass. Far better than my first bottle of this a couple of years ago, but not quite the depth and intensity of the second. Really lovely classic Rioja. ****1/2
