July 2, 2018 - As anticipated, somewhat primary and showing ripeness. Planning to drink a few 05 Ponsot's this week and contrast them.

November 22, 2016 - In its drinking window. Drinking beautifully but will continue to evolve for a number of years.

November 5, 2015 - 2015 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2015-11/9/2015 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Laurent doesn't like the Ponsot wine making style but I am a fan. Very Ponsot nose displaying very ripe sweet dark fruits, blackberry jam, black cherry, black spices, cola, caramel and earth. Excellent concentration, intense slightly dry black fruit driven palate impression, mineral, bright acidity and very long finish that ends with an earthy black fruit note. I am a fan but if you don't care for the ripe style of the domaine, you should avoid this. It is still quite primary and need at least ten years to reach the peak.

April 11, 2015 - I agree with other comments - this wine stands out for its balance - medium to light body.

June 22, 2006 - France Trip Part 3 - Burgundy; 6/20/2006-6/23/2006: Barrel sample tasted at the domaine w/ Laurent Ponsot. Rich, pure black and red cherries. Minerality galore. Fantastic balance and harmony. Excellent.

(Ponsot Griotte-Chambertin) Medium-plus colour. The nose starts as an interesting mix of high-tones, cherry-red fruit and a creamy red base, but that was only the start - super-focused red fruit follows - a real thing of beauty. The palate is super-intense, beautifully packaging the tannin. The length is fine but slowly narrows rather than expands, so the finish is impressive rather than great - the rest is great.
