August 26, 2023 - Dark fruit, spice, iron, and earth. Pretty stern and not too giving at this stage. Also, no green notes, which made it tough to peg as 2004 during the blind.

July 20, 2021 - Red fruits, moss, savory, spice, and background florals. Midweighted with a ferrous earthy side that follows the nose onto the palate. Savory and spice more than fruit driven at this phase. Overall very good, drinking at peak with a good combination of savory more than fruit. Minimal green meanies that almost come across as basil. Quite long on the back end. Overall this is an excellent '04 drinking at peak.

December 12, 2020 - 8 hours upon opening into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale ruby with bricking rims.
Dried leaves, very much ash like and mossy notes that suggests the vintage. Red berries driven.
Face of tough competition here but the nose is really good, on palate this is slightly more forward than the others.
93-94 points.
10 hours upon opening: more hawthorn berries and much less leafy and mossy than the last round. Powdery cosmetics. More towards 94 points at this stage. -

September 26, 2020 - 80 pt3: Ponsot to the rescue, following a corked 93 Remy. Plucked from the cellar and poured as an emergency replacement. Just as previous bottle, this is lovely from the off. Dark fruit, quite plush initially and large scaled. No greenies. A satisfyingly Morey mineral spine that gives shape and line. Finishes very well with air, a little less lush but more plush as it pulls itself together to give a denser, tighter flesh on the frame. Cherry, some spice and a slightly otherworldly quality that keeps drawing the nose in and making one want another sip. This is ready but seemingly has years ahead of it. ****

June 13, 2020 - Brick red in color. Lovely aromas of underbrush, bright red berries, herbs and hint of florals. Medium bodied palate reveals sweet crushed red fruits with a hint of savory brown sauce, medium (+) acidity and a finish that shows a mix of floral+earth flavors. Best 2004 so far.
