Community Tasting Notes 5

December 2, 2016 - Deep orange copper-yellow colour. Nose has a whiff of oxidization, a metallic copper note, rotted banana skin, tounches of marzipan and almond. Palate is big, rich, rope amond, medium acidity' fat but not heavy, very nutty in an almond way. Good honeycomb finish in the mouth. No great length. Definitely ready for drinking up and probably well past best for most tastes. However, it was much better than the Peter Michael Belle Cote 1997 we drank alongside it.

August 23, 2015 - Tasted at our 2015 Kevorkian dinner. Still lovely with residual fruit held up by a nice amount of acid

January 11, 2009 - Very nice. Warmed up in the glass. Citrus undertowns and wonderful on the palate.

March 5, 2006 - A wonderful chardonnay, although probably seeing its last days. Butter, minerals, spring flowers, a bit of nutmeg or clove, sensuous mouthfeel. Medium finish - but clear hints that it was longer in its youth. If you have any, drink them now.

March 1, 2005 - Round yellow fruit aroma. Rich mouthfeel with lovely rich fruit and a hint of tropical fruits. Oaky, but well integrated with underlying fruit to support it. This was my favorite of the chardonnays, but probably benefited in comparison with 2 more years on it. 3/05
