Community Tasting Notes 14

January 21, 2024 - Nearly 14 years since the last CT notes so how’s it going ?
Actually pretty well. Still plenty of life and fruit left with quite a bit of richness. Relatively deep in colour and a slight brown hue but plenty of life left with a sweet core.
Good energy still and will surely last several years left surely.
    Good stuff

July 17, 2010 - I love this style of Pinot! Medium red colour showing a little fade at the rim. Beautiful nose of cherries, cloves, earth and building some secondary nuances. Elegant medium body, this wine is as silky as any pinot. Open knit and expressive, starting to show complexity, this wine is at peak drinking and should remain at this plateau of maturity for at least another 5 years. Elegant and classy.

April 29, 2010 - Popped and poured at a restaurant. Great nose of candied blackberries, asian spice dark cherries and a touch of smoke. Initially very very tight, but came around in the glass with some coaxing and as the bottle sat open over dinner. Unfortunately, the meal that we had was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life, but this was the one saving grace. So all the credit to Au Bon Climat for giving me peace as I chewed out the manager for their terrible and waaaaay overpriced food.

March 19, 2010 - Bottle was still extremely tight. After 20 minutes the cherries started to come out but the body and finish never ended coming out much. This wine has good oak to it and is very Burgundian in style. Nice wine but the Clendenen family Pinot expresses better.

January 3, 2010 - Blackberry, cherry notes. Some earthy bitterness mid-palate. Had it with a rabbit stew after 5 hours of decanting. 90 points
