  May 24, 2023 - Dinner with Alva and Leo from Idealwines: My first instinct was Austrian Riesling so immediately said to the friend who usually brings Austrians this was his wine (but it wasn't). Some greenness, tropical fruit and rounded texture that made me vacillate between Austrian and an Alto Adige white. The rest of the table went for a Rhone white which left me quite puzzled.

  January 2, 2023 - Yellow fruit, intense oxidized apple flavors, honeydew melon, lemons, black pepper, hint of vanilla oak and a slightly bitter grapefruit finish. A ripe and intense wine, but it is also very fresh. Lovely wine. - 92 points

  August 14, 2022 - From Mag; compared against Hirtzberger Hochrain 2011; both very nicely developed and wood well integrated, Lamm maybe slightly fresher/younger but both at the same level that evening

  March 26, 2022 - Wine as a Journey (Bar Cleeta - Bentonville, Arkansas): Matched surprisingly well with diverse dishes served with it. Who would've thought that beef tartare would work so well next to a Gruner? Chosen because the husband/wife team running Bar Cleeta used Gruner not only as an after-service "refresher" for the staff in their New York days, but found early on that if a dish presented a difficult pairing problem, more times than not Gruner came to the rescue.
