December 17, 2021 - Medium garnet in color with slight bricking on the rim. Some sediment is present. Red fruited with some barnyard and the kirsch note that you find on some Southern Rhone wines. Dry with medium plus acidity. There still is a bit of grip on the palate but will soften up with some air time. The tertiaries are here and the fruit is still present at the core. The finish is complex and of mid length. This has aged very well but should last for another 5 years easily.

March 10, 2020 - Very ready to drink, but will hold a while. Well balanced low end red Burgundy. Where else but Burgundy would you find a low end wine with a price tag like this!.

June 9, 2018 - A beautiful Burgundy. So much intrigue in the bouquet: everywhere I move my nose I smell something different, all pleasant. Barnyard, ripe persimmon, and lavender come to mind. Then the palate: broad, a touch sweet, with pleasing tannins and some depth of flavor. A great wine to simply drink and admire. Food can wait until later. Drinking perfectly now, but reasonably could last another 5 years.

May 26, 2017 - Starts off with a nice nose of licorice , smoked meats and a touch of violets. In the mouth the fruit is still there but starting to thin out. Dark ripe berries with a touch of menthol. Mid to finish it tightens up and is juicy but tart. Probably just past it's peak. Drink ASAP.

November 29, 2015 - Unlike my last, three weeks ago, that tasted and smelled of V8 juice, this was a great bottle. Deep pinot noir nose and well balanced fruity palate, somewhat dominated by tannin. Drunk along side the 2002 bottling of this wine, the '05 came off as just a bit too young, but with a huge upside potential. Nice fruit filled finish, perhaps a little shorter than the '02.
