November 27, 2020 - INTENSE! Absolutely soaring nose and the best bottle of this tasted thus far (and actually, my last bottle). Tons of sous bois, boeuf bourguignon, damp black truffle, Worcestershire sauce, lots of minerality, etc. The flavors here are ample and lush, more robust than other vintages of this wines and once again, a bigger wine than the ‘78. Almost a bone-marrow-like richness going on that makes this a truly special bottle! 93.

September 18, 2020 - Not as exciting or delineated as previous bottles; showing a bit of advancement (oxidation) coupled with a mocha/coffee element that seems to dominate any sort of higher-toned freshness (from what I've read, a hallmark of the vintage?). A darker toned-Chambolle with more brut power than the '67 or '78 rendition chez Remoissenet. Enjoyable for sure, but not performing as good as other bottles tasted. 89+

June 10, 2020 - Very good showing! A shade or two darker than the lovely ‘67 bottling chez. Remoissenet. This is rich, showing fantastic damp soil/sous bois aromas with various cabinet spice/cedar chest along with many of the usual suspects. Supple, sweet flavors featuring caramel, espresso mixed with dark red cherry, still. Once again, richer than the ‘67 and perhaps a hair less pure/transparent but this is simply delicious with plenty of thrust to the aromas and flavors that are reminiscent of French onion soup and boeuf bourguignon reduction. 92+

July 1, 2018 - Tasted blind: I had the exact same experience as AMC as I was hit with the "coffee grounds" nose of oxidation that I'm super sensitive to; mercifully that blew off after several minutes and turned into a surprisingly enjoyable wine. I suspect these were "re-released" shortly after the new operators took over as even the very earliest re-bottlings are showing hairy mold under the cap and throwing good amounts of sediment. Once things "aired out", this showed some real guts and substance.

December 18, 2017 - Immediately after opening, slightly oxidized and aged acidity, but after 15-20 minutes oxidized notes dissipated. Soft dried cherry fruit still present and balanced acidity. Lovely Burgundy nose. Surprisingly delicious after 48 years and for a village level wine.
