December 5, 2023 - Klar, diesen Wein hätte ich besser vor zehn Jahren getrunken. Im Prinzip ist er weitgehend hinüber und hat mit einer restsüssen Spätlese nicht mehr viel zu tun. Dennoch ist er interessant: Sehr dunkle Farbe. Am Gaumen Noten von Weihnachtsgewürzen, Honig, Tabak. Leichte Bitterness. Die Säure ist immer noch ausreichend, um einen langen Abgang zu gewährleisten. Die Süsse ist fast komplett weg. Blind verkostet würde ich eher auf einen gereiften Port als auf einen Riesling tippen. Ein Wein, der in Ehren gealtert ist.

December 31, 2009 - (from memory) Dark amber, looked ten years older than it was, big nose of apricot, melon, honeysuckle, lemongrass and petroleum, juicy on the palate with complex melon and summer fruits, long haunting finish, makes me want to buy and drink more rieslings, especially at this price and quality
