May 16, 2017 - Originally brought for a party I commented that it could probably do with another year - and so it has proved. Transformed. Racy cherry-led fruit with just the right traces of acidity and old oak - now fully integrated. Light to medium bodied but with a good flavour concentration.
Fully ready and, if still relatively simple, excellent value at the basic Bordeaux level (bonus point applied). Drink up this year while at its peak. -

Wine is full bodied. Dark garnet
Stewed dark fruit. Compote. Ripe strawberries
Tight. Dry. Astringent. Round back end with a medium plus finish
Tastes much like it's nose. A little 'fruity' for my taste but good none the less. -

April 14, 2017 - Woody and smokey on the nose; concentrated flavours. Medium length and tannins fairly strong. Worth decanting to mellow the tannins slightly, really good with food rather than alone.

More a beautiful warm summer white and rosé evening. Nonetheless, 7 bottles consumed with the splendid food. Taught blackcurrant and green capsicum in a medium frame.
Probably needs another year but not a keeper - and not meant to be! Sound - does what it says on the label.
