November 8, 2023 - The bottle had a great fill level and the cork was perfectly intact. Still fairly light in color with minimal bricking given the age. This had an amazing nose of old books with fruit still present - I could have sat there smelling it all night. Unfortunately the taste had a strong acidity that felt on the verge of vinegar and all tannins were completely gone. Not ruined, and definitely improved once it had a chance to open, but almost certainly past its prime. Astonishingly, there was absolutely zero sediment in the bottle! Drink if you have it, it's still an experience.

July 19, 2023 - So surprised to find the acidity still good; it must be because of the good structure. Really amazing wine

I can see why BS is a legend...

May 20, 2023 - Late night at home with neighbourhood friends. Very mouldy top and dirty soaked cork that came out intact with Durand. Ullage pretty good. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance not clear, lots of fine sediments, medium intensity, still ruby colour with garnet rim. Thin legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of VA nail polish dominant, whiffs of oxidation that blow off, earth and mushrooms. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), integrated high tannins still with some sense of good structure, full body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of dried red plums, savoury earth, vegetal mushrooms, Port. Medium+ finsih.
Possibly flawed and over the hill.
