October 16, 2018 - Very pale gold and clear pristine condition (screwcap) having aromas of lychee, rose, a touch of pineapple, lemon blossom and some exotic spices.

I find it has beautiful palate sweetness balanced by good acidity when served cold. There is a certain lusciousness to it not from viscosity but from the fruit complexity and acid balance and with very good length. For me the complexity of flavour comes with good citrus and lychee notes with some spring flower floral hints (eg Freesias). I don't really see the spices in the palate in this vintage.

I have loved this wine for years. Apparently made some in stainless some in large old oak then blended - I think LDH have this down to a T now. Its always in my cellar to have with massaman curries where the sweetness offsets the curry and the alcohol is checked by the acidity.

Absolutely delicious, very good quality, very good value considering Alsace or German alternatives. Air NZ Wine awards (it gets this frequently). Gewurz is not exactly a popular drink but I hope LDH keep making this - love it.

August 1, 2018 - Straw. Classic Gewurtz nose of rosewater and lychee. On the palate, full, slightly spicy, intriguing. A touch of sweetness, which perhaps could have done with a degree more acidity for balance. Still, very enjoyable: a serious pleasure. Screwcap, 14%.

January 28, 2018 - Classic nose of lychee, rose and some peach. The palate is a little off dry, and shows a touch alcoholic heat. But had a similar profile to the nose which is quite nice. Probably best on release.

November 26, 2016 - Very floral nose, rose and lily. Palate: surprisingly tastes like it smells, with a delicate floral essence
