  January 25, 2024 - The wine was decanted of a decent amount of sediment, and then aired for 90 minutes and then returned to the bottle for serving.
  
  Eye: Deep black-purple center to a bright pink-ruby rim. The wine shows almost no signs of bricking.
  
  Nose: Old leather, eucalyptus and mint, cassis, strawberry and cherries. Fresh cracked black pepper and dark crushed berries. There is also just the faintest hint of burnt brown sugar and bubblegum.
  
  Palate: Very delicate velvety tannins are paired with punchy bright acidity. Strawberries, cherries, plums. Spice cabinet. More black pepper, and some rich dark chocolate.
  
  Finish: Long. Red and black fruits linger. There is a slight tongue puckering acidity.

  July 4, 2023 - Last bottle of a case and very good. That is, the slump of overripe, jammy flavors seems to be in the past and this showed enough acid and structure to carry the alcohol. My last one; would drink other bottles sooner than later if I had them.

  April 26, 2023 - Shared w Mike LaDeaux and Brian Hill at BBQ tonight. 2 hr decant then it opened up nicely. Definitely has a rich earthy density but smoothed out w time. You could even say it was inky. I have four more and can't wait to share those too.

  March 24, 2023 - Me Decanted one hour. Medium to full bodied. Black currant, tea and spice. Nicely balanced with good acidity. Relatively simple and drinking well now. I would drink this over the next few years.
