July 15, 2019 - Very funky on the nose, but the red fruit really come through on the palate - strawberry, cherry and raspberry. Savoury undertones very much still present, but very nicely balanced. Ready to go now, and I don't think there's anything to be gained by holding on to it.

August 23, 2018 - I thought it was good value. Interesting on the nose with a surprising honeycomb scent and red fruit most prominently strawberries. Less impressive on the palate with perhaps some greeness but nothing that bothered me too much. Sadly this is my only bottle of the 2014 but got some of the 2016 as well so will be interesting to compare.

March 18, 2018 - soft fruity nose of rhubarb-tinged raspberry, sage, a bit of orange twist and pomegrante come forward. Soft in the mouth. Integrated structure makes this highly drinkable.

March 9, 2018 - There is so much hype surrounding Sylvain Pataille, not least the recent Noble Rot feature proclaiming S.P to be a rising star. I was expecting something decent, or if to believe the talk perhaps something excellent. Sadly 2 identical bottles were shy on the nose with a very hard/dry palate with a bitter finish, light body. Void of the silky, sweet scented, lifted fruit or pretty elements that a half decent Burgundy should offer. Sadly; stalky, green, bordering on unpleasant. Diam closure and no cork taint. Perhaps 2014 was not the right year for this cuvée though I believe an excellent producer can produce perhaps not memorable but at least enjoyable btls in a difficult vintage.
