May 6, 2022 - Past it’s prime but intriguing and, most importantly, still enjoyable. Pie cherries and cedar wood in the nose. The fruit is a bit tart as the acidity shows and the balance declines. Lots of sediment. Stand up a good many days.

February 23, 2017 - Amazingly good the first hour which my score reflects, but unfortunately went south and dried out. Initially, great perfume of dried flowers, nuts, earth, leather which could have been an old Burgundy. And on the palate, medium weight, very complex and interesting with ripe acidity and an earthiness which brought me back to Brunello. Remarkable old Brunello, my first Pertimali.

June 7, 2013 - Traditional Brunello. Wet asphalt, stewed cherries. Long and expressive.

April 21, 2012 - Tuscan wine gathering at Bluegrass Restaurant - Showing my dedication to Baltimore winos (Bluegrass restaurant, Baltimore): Pop and pour, expressive nose displays , rose, light caramel, anise and brandy dipped cherry. Fully matured beautiful silky palate, bright acidity and nicely integrated tannins. This is warmer, rounder and more expressive than the 88. Beguiling wine. Drinking beautifully right now.

June 6, 2010 - Vini Rossi-L'Ultimo Piano (Asti Trattoria): Most tasters thought this wine corked, though initially several tasters thought it just over-the-hill, with no tannins left and a tea characteristic, described as having a good mouthfeel and mid-palate.
