November 3, 2020 - Last bottle of a case. Excellent example of the great things that can happen with older Alsatian wines. This wine was long a favorite, and i just found a bottle hidden in the depths of my cellar. We last had this over a decade ago, and opened it tonight with great anticipation. Before I even poured it out of the bottle, the aroma of stone fruit and flowers emerged. In the glass, it was a rich light golden color. Perfectly balanced, with good acidity, lush, and a dancing array of fruit flavors with an overall honeyed effect that old Alsatian wines acquire. These old wines are simply a joy to drink.

The second day (gassed) it was even better. The third day, it was thinning out. Still lovely.

December 23, 2008 - Crisp and fun to drink, nice acidity, decent amounts of citrus and nuts. Fantastic match to spicy Thai food.

February 9, 2008 - Nose: Yeast, some gewurz characteristic, a little grass. Tight nose. Not a lot of fruit.

Palate: Slightly sweet. A little hollow on the midpalate. Bitter bomb! We're talking in the 70 IBU range, starting on the midpalate. Finish is very bitter. I'm not feeling this wine. Medium bodied. Left open for just a few seconds in my refrigerator, this wine immediately smelled like onions. so That's that. Little redeeming fruit. $14.50
