December 7, 2022 - I really enjoyed this wine; it still had a backbone to it; I had a half bottle; delicious but I have no doubt that this wine would be good for 10 more years. Structure is in place for a long life.

April 22, 2018 - Arietta makes excellent merlot, maybe as good as any California merlot. I had a Arietta merlot/syrah blend, variation one, the other day that was excellent (94pts) so I wanted to compare a 100% merlot to that. It was just as good, nice dark fruit, smooth. This was much better than a bottle I had 6 months ago.

January 19, 2018 - Weird experience as it was promising when opened but a bit disjointed and was looking forward to tasting day #2 -- but it fell apart overnight. Seems like all the pieces are there but this bottle never hit any high notes for me. I'll wait on my other bottle for a few years before opening.

October 24, 2017 - I've always thought Arietta makes great merlot, but this was very average, although with good acidity. The drinking window says 2018, so maybe my bad.
