May 10, 2023 - Nose of ripe tropical fruits and a nice touch of toast.

Mouth on an oxidative touch, which is then covered by a magnificent tension. The juice is oily but very saline, on wet stone and flint. Then there are aromas of toasted pine nuts. Everything is very harmonious with a big length in the mouth. Textured juice with a beautiful patina. Final on the salted butter caramel with a good length.

Very good Meursault from Roulot once again.

April 10, 2021 - Extreme gunflint nose reminiscent of d'Auvenay or Coche. Pure and crystalline palate.

April 12, 2020 - At first this nose is more ripe and tropical than signiture Roulot with heaps of pineapple and some coconut flakes. Starts to freshen up right away with a more stoney and white fruit character, although still extremely ripe. Some flinty mineral. No reduction whatsoever, which I find disappointing. The level of acid on the palate is really surprising and cuts the otherwise thick yellow fruit. Mouth coating but not unduly heavy. Ultimately a little too warm and although there is detail and complexity it isn’t quite enough to stand up to the overripeness. Palate is still really enjoyable but the nose is a bit overboard spare a few fresh glimpses near the beginning.

September 7, 2018 - Clos Rougeard Breze and Le Bourg and some friends (905 Fahrenheit aka 485° Düsseldorf): Blind.
A great Meursault. Concentrated, deep. Oak well integrated, beginning tertiary aromas. Roasted pine nuts, refreshing acidity and lightly salty caramells in the finish. The journey for this wine is not finished yet. 95+

March 28, 2017 - Dim Sum Club at InItaly (InItaly, Craig Road): 9 years since I last had this, and it barely seems to have aged. The nose felt far younger, with light wafts of oak, some nutty, buttery scents, neutral white fruited aromas at the base, and then a nice stream of flinty, smoky mineral. The palate had a really nice fullness for a village with a round, fleshy, creamy feel on the attack. But this was also nicely undercut by a surprising amount of acidity for a 2005 wine, lending it a good sense of balance in spite of its richness and flesh. Again, neutral white fruit and butter notes were at the forefront, before just a spine of spice and seashell mineral pulled away into a nicely long finish. A very solid Meursault village, with a very long life ahead of it.
