December 8, 2016 - Tasted double blind: Meaty, spicy, perfumed (- this has to be Pinot Noir.) The palate is primary with fruit. It's spicy and meaty - mouth gripping, big some heat and ripe fruit: blackberry and raspberry, a little bit burly. (So where is this from? - some say Burgundy, and I see why they might think that, but it's too ripe for that to me - it's new world, and probably USA. It's not one of those spoofed monsters - Marcassin or Kistler or Aubert, but it's got a little more oompf than I want on the palate - Matt thought OR, but I said cooler climate CA - either SB or RRV, finally going with RRV. Has some age on it, I guessed early 2000's.) Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 4.5-5/6, Finish - 4.5-5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15-16.5/20.

April 27, 2014 - Impressive. Great color, perfect fill and fresh cork. Actually preferred to 2000 Marcassin. Fresh and with lots of flavor. Even better the next day.

February 9, 2012 - excellent Pinot - full of flavour - great fruit - great balance - though not particularly complex.

December 5, 2010 - hoped for more, but it is a 1997 pinot. was hoping it would hold up, but alas. color is murky with no bright at all. nose is bretty and devoid of fruit. mostly mushroom and dead forest floor. mouth is full of brett, mushy mushroom, some smoke. leaves a film on the palate but in a negative sense. finish is short and monolithic and dusky.
