Community Tasting Notes 15

January 16, 2022 - Decanted for 1 hour, with heavy sediment, this bottle my last was purchased in 2008. Perhaps a bit past it’s prime but still holding on to a bit of dark fruit, peppery notes, burnt oak, soft, smooth medium finish.

March 15, 2019 - In its day this would have been a very tidy wine. A lot of the fruit has now departed and I'm spitting out bits of cork. Still ok but about 4 years past it's prime

February 9, 2018 - The quality of the wine was there, but the fruit has gone, mostly cedar and red wood with a little blackberry, some nice clove, but not much in the secondary, feel I missed the prime of this wine, as per previous comments. Drink up. be careful it has thrown a lot of sediment

December 23, 2014 - I first tasted the 04 vintage back in 07, this is the third time I have tasted this since and it seems I find it less & less appealing each time and this is no exception. The fruit though apparent is dominated by port like qualities and low complexity, this is not to say there is not merits as certainly there is plenty of bang and goes quite well on a cool evening. Plenty of blackberry, licorice and vanilla, still sweet and jammy, even though this has been in a cool cellar I plan to drink my last bottle very soon. IMHO

November 28, 2014 - Tasted during a Wine Advocat event - A matter of taste. Very dark purple. Nose of burnt rubber with dark fruit and earthy tones, a bit oxidative. Medium bodied palate, quite sweet but more balanced than the 200.
