May 2, 2011 - In a good place, a solid wine. Again must give Garagiste credit where credit is due cuz some of their wines ... not so much

December 18, 2010 - Deep ruby color. Nose reminds me of a young Turley, with a mix of strawberry and blackberry liquor, mocha and floral notes. Full bodied on the palate, good acidity with some residual heat.

May 8, 2009 - Solid grenache based wine, with round flavours, quite strong, but not overpowering. Ends on a warm (and alcoholic) pepper note, but this is not disturbing with food.Needs a short decant, than the round lactic notes show better. Worked well with the steak. Would buy/drink again. 89pts

October 28, 2008 - I understand the comparison to a young CdP in the other notes. Strong dense Grenache fruit with notes of pepper. Well balanced but in need of some time for the fruit to settle. Bottle disappeared before I could make a late revisit. Very good.

October 22, 2008 - Remember how young Chateauneuf used to taste when it was at the cusp between the paint-remover mode of olden days and the current overly extracted and rot phase? When a wine could deliver immediate gorgeous Grenache and mineral pleasure and still tantalize you with the promise of what could come? And you don't regret a second of drinking it young but still know it is not going to decay miserably? And that tension is what maximized the joy?

That is this wine. Totally. Downed a whole bottle. No regrets.

(LIVINIéRE Oustal Blanc) UPDATE: Holiday Hours As of tomorrow (Thanksgiving day), we will be closed for the holiday weekend and will re-open on Monday the 26th. We will not be open on Friday or Saturday for pick-up or to answer the phones (we will check email and respond to email). We may send offers (not sure yet) on Friday that can be responded to at your leisure until Monday (we will reply to your order inquires on Monday). Enjoy your holiday! Garagiste ******************************* Send-off Special Dear Friends, First things first - I hope everyone has a great holiday with friends, family and those you hold dear - eat some turkey and stuffing for me (not much in the way of turkey in Paris). I have a weakness for cornbread stuffing and also mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving but I will eat a croissant in your honor... ....and now a holiday send-off special that is very hard to find - the top-end Liviniere cuvee from L’Oustal Blanc. This wine is bordering on incredible - it is L’ Oustal Blanc’s high-end cuvee from a vineyard that is 100-120 years of age. If you want to be entranced and even enlightened, this wine will transport you to places mostly unknown - a perfect blind entrant in a high-end CdP tasting. Is this the equal of 2005 Clos des Papes at half the price? Your palate will be the judge: VERY RARE ONE SHIPMENT ONLY directly from the source 2004 La Liviniere L’Oustal Blanc (Minervois) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA SOFR9895
