Community Tasting Notes 6

October 12, 2019 - I had some bottles from earlier vintages which I found nice, this one not!

It isn’t flawed but this taste/note of old, muddy apple juice really annoys me. I had that note in bad Croatian wines from big wineries, something is wrong in Denmark :(

  • sc03852 Likes this wine:

December 1, 2017 - Juicy pear purée. White and yellow flower. Hint of spice - Vanilla and nutmeg. Woody, slightly earthy, a beautiful winter white. Enough sweetness and depth for a salty, smelly soft cheese.

November 5, 2016 - Floral nose, floral notes in the mouth with slight stone fruit moving right into funk, blue cheese, very interesting at the least

October 24, 2016 - Instead of another floral, acidic, cheap bordeaux blanc, the oak, peppermint and artisan honey put this lower priced bordeaux in the direction of bordeaux blancs costing twice as much. However, while this has a creamier palate than $9 versions, its a far cry from something like Chateau de Fieuzal. I'd buy again if I didn't want to spring for something more decadent.

July 29, 2015 - Quite neutral, light peach, stony minerality and herb. Medium body and medium + acidity. It should be made with 60% Sauvignon Blanc, but I couldn't feel the "punch" this variety usually have on the nose.

It faired much better after being paired with a jelly of summer vegetables, the dish and the wine sustained each other, giving a fresh green (minty) sensation on the palate.
