May 15, 2024 - My first bottle from a case of 12. Dark red color. Opens up with farmyard aromas, notes of blackberry fruit, flowers, very Clape. Sound, juicy fruit on the palate, local feel, earthy, dark colored fruit, marked tannins. This has real character, will live for a long time as well. Lunch at home with Niels, missing CP.

October 14, 2023 - Minor deposit on decanting Dark red.
Opened quite muted and acid. Gradually breathed up to show restrained dark fruits of the area. Still muted compared with the 2019 bottle. A little disappointing. Let’s see what tomorrow brings, if some survives dinner. -

July 28, 2023 - Third bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2016. Pristine condition, not decanted, opened three hours in advance. Quite a surprise after the reticent bottle in June of this year. Aromatically this bottle is open and attractive, fresh and energetic but rounded and supple, with light but grippy tannins, lovely balance and weight (13% ABV), flavours of black pepper and flowers, peaches and raspberries, hint of cream, very good resonance and length.

June 17, 2023 - Second bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2016. Pristine condition, decanted for three hours. In January 2021 this was still very tight and closed, but by now the nose has opened up a bit and the palate has relaxed slightly. The style remains really cool and energetic however for such a warm vintage, and the fruit is ripe but clearly in the tarter, redder part of the spectrum with some cherry stones. Aromatic complexity on the nose is still a thing of the future, and the tannins are finely grained but very grippy, and the finish is still tight and dry. I do not detect any meaningful tertiary evolution yet - which is slightly unusual at this stage. Not sure where this is going, when will it blossom?

May 3, 2023 - Absolutely spot on. Better on Day 2 (decanted into a half bottle)
