October 15, 2023 - Still alive and well. A strong tobacco note has come forward. Bright acid, red fruit. Medium bodied. Refreshing. I think it’s time to drink up. Needs food. (90)

June 28, 2021 - Medium ruby; aromatic, red fruited, cherries, spices; medium bodied, red fruited, high acidity, medium 13.5% alcohol, low-medium tannin; medium-plus finish. Really nice barbera consistent with my previous bottles, drinking well now with a bit of air.

April 20, 2021 - Despite standing for a month, still some cloudy sediment in the last 3-4oz which taste weird even with straining through a filter. The remainder of the bottle takes 30 minutes of air to open up but then has a fantastic nose of red fruits, spices; balanced medium-full body with high acidity, medium 13.5% alcohol, excellent red fruit throughout; medium-long finish. Really excellent, consistent with my last bottle and drinking well now and for the next 5 years at least.

February 17, 2021 - Small amount of settled sediment. Medium-plus ruby, clear; aromatic, plummy with some spices, really nice depth and complexity to the aromas; palate is medium-plus bodied, high acidity, low tannin, medium alcohol (13.5%), plenty of dark fruit, some minerals, good length; finish is medium to medium-plus length, clean and inviting for the next refreshing sip. This is an exceptional Barbera, and seems overall better balanced and fresher than the 2011 I tried yesterday, though that was also enjoyable.
