November 1, 2022 - Pale lemon colour. Small and lively bubbles. Medium and developing nose with green apples, lime, chalk and wet stone. Medium taste of green apples, lime, wet stone and chalk. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good and stoney English Sparkling. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well as an aperitif, or with shellfish.

March 4, 2020 - 2014 Ridgeview Cavendish was refreshing, citrus and toasty. The English traditional sparkler was clear and pale lemon in colour. On the nose, there are straightforward aromas of lemon zest, lemon juice, green apple and bread. On the palate, it was dry and medium-bodied, with high level of acidity and creamy bubbles. The medium finish was filled with flavours of wet stones, lemon and toast.
On the back label, it boasted aromas of red berry, honey and biscuit, but the first two aroma descriptors might not agree with most tasters' experience on CellarTracker.
It was my first experience of English sparklers. Though the roundness, complexity and the quality of the bubbles were not on the same level as a great bottle of Champagne, it was an interesting consequence of global warming. If I look for outstanding sparklers, I would probably consider prestigious Champagne or Franciacorta. On the other hand, if I look for value in my traditional sparklers, Crément from Loire and Bourgogne, as well as Cava are probably better options. The English sparklers might have to establish its market position, when the novelty of crafting sparking wine in the United Kingdom fades. -

April 24, 2019 - (NB: I tasted all wines this night with a significant head cold.) Very nice nose. Biscuits and herbs. Almost like a proper English garden (power of suggestion?). Sweet cream. Touch of citrus. On the palate this is big and assertive. Quite tart some lemon and a bit rough. Smooths out well nice perfume. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20. It's possible that I liked this more than I might have without my cold, since I was unable to get much nuance in wines and the rough style here pushed through my cold.
