March 28, 2024 - Popped and poured. Beautifully translucent. Grenache at the forefront here, both nose and mouth. On the soft, fragrant side of the spectrum. This may grow with airing, but at present it is underwhelming. 5-11-15-6: 87/100.

February 16, 2024 - Pretty and serious youthful translucent purple. Soothingly complex aromas. Game, dried flowers and cracked black pepper. Rich and mellow, while quite lively entry. Black cherry and plums, savory and sweet. Outstanding texture that’s soft and dense. Super long finish accelerating after 20 seconds. Makes me wonder if espirit needs 8 good cellar years.

January 29, 2024 - My notes from 3/25/18 mirror tonight’s. Very reticent, perhaps still in a closed phase. Extremely tight out of the bottle and only marginally more open after a three-hour decant. Not much of anything right now. My last bottle. But I’d wait another three years if I had more in the cellar.

January 4, 2024 - Medium red big (14.5%) wine. Nice nose followed by "meaty" black cherry, licorice and plum fruit. Long finish. Needed 35 minutes to open.

December 11, 2023 - Needed 45 minutes to open. Deep dark big (14.5%) wine. Plum and burnt oak fruit. Very long finish. Not as smooth as some syrahs.
