July 24, 2022 - Continue to hold this one. Red cherry flavors dominate, with hints of citrus rind and spice. Primary, pure, fresh, and tight, never fully giving up the goods. It isn't so locked-up that there's no pleasure to be had, but it is certainly about 5-7+ years from peaking. Hide in a corner until 2027+. By the end of the evening, it had shut down and become overtly linear.

Served next to a 2005 Faiveley Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, which was academically interesting, but clearly the Murgers could not keep up with the ready-to-go Faiveley.

March 24, 2020 - Red cherry, pomegranate, orange rind, raspberry sorbet, bark, and bitter coffee bean. Primary and red-fruited, with the sorbet and orange rind adding interest, but also keeping this at a higher register delivery. With air, some black cherry and earthy funk flavors show up and offer limited depth. This will be a phenomenal wine in 5-7+ years. 93-94++ points.

April 17, 2018 - Entwined soft aromas of dry moss, flowers, and dark berry, with a hint of espresso, chocolate, and bark. Warm spread of fruit on the palate with a lovely acid tannin backing, a beautiful movement from front to back into a long glowing ember of an acid finish. A feeling of promise, of something waiting to happen. 50 + 18 + 17 + 8 = 93.
