Community Tasting Notes 3

September 1, 2014 - A gorgeous, fully resolved Chianti with sweet tobacco-y fruit, fine, dusty tannins, chewy (not rustic) texture, and a sense of brightness rare for the vintage.

January 30, 2013 - Drinking better than I would have expected. Not exactly big and fresh but plenty of fruit left and over time some nice tarry aromas. Not bad for an inexpensive wine that's over 20 years old.

January 9, 2007 - A post Holiday dinner with coworkers (nyc): Big smoky, oaky nose with major cabernet, very herbaceous, very bordeaux like, streak of cassis. Big, rich and round entry with a very structured feel, good acidity with lots of soft tannins adding support, really seductive mouthfeel, very youthful feeling and restrained with a moderately long finish rich with spice, tobacco, and quartz. Still this doesn't ring my sangiovese bell. It would be a great ringer for a Bordeaux tasting though. Very well made.
