Community Tasting Notes 4

October 29, 2019 - At 14 years this is still rather a vin de garde, and tasted blind, hard to believe this is Beaujolais.
Slightly muddy ruby with just the slightest glint of garnet at the rim.
    Rather austere opening
Dry muted cherry candy flavors, with a moderate amount of tannin.
Still a bit tough, but rounds out with some air and aging rather gracefully.

    I’d choose to hold

February 27, 2008 - Light and flavorful but not very complex

June 28, 2007 - Nice and subtle beaujolais. Stay away if you want the beaujolais nouveau-like garbage. This is elegant, delicat fruit. Perfect with Steak Tartare (Americain Nature).

November 25, 2006 - The color starts to show what tihis is about, a kind of opaque purple, distinctive from the the usual deep powerful purple from the full bodied reds. The nose is all about bubble gum, raspberry and banana with some red fruit and some green notes too. Light to medium body, nice mouthfeel and that's it. A fun drink and nothing else.
