August 12, 2022 - Not a bad wine to drink on a warm day, but definitely not going to blow you away. A little more earthy than a typical rosé. Started with it cold, but better a little warmer. Fairly nondiscript flavors.

January 21, 2019 - Pleasantly drier than I remembered from early last summer; possibly bottle variation but hopefully the effect of eight additional months of integration. Provence-like in color and measured tone, with a clean refreshing finish.

Assez ample et mielleux, un peu too much, ça sature.
    On passe!

May 27, 2018 - An American wine with amusing French allusions. The color is what the French call "gris" when applied to rosés made in the Rhone valley or Provence (which is not grey but the tinge of a ripe apricot), and the "cigare" is not an aroma but a reference to the "cigare volant" (= flying saucer) which was supposed to have landed in 1954 outside the town, north of Avignon, of Chateauneuf-du-Pape (and which was subsequently prohibited from parking there by village ordinance).
Check out this link for the entire hilarious story: https://vinepair.com/wine-blog/chateauneuf-du-pape-ufo-wine-law/
The wine itself is an allusion to the delicious pale, dry, fruity rosés of the region made primarily of grenache and mourvedre that one drinks all summer in the south and southwest of France. We paired it with broiled Alaska salmon but it would be delicious on a hot day with almost anything.
