June 8, 2013 - Chalky deep garnet vanilla cigar. Last sip was the best of the bottle.

December 21, 2012 - Nice mix of cherry and oak flavors with a long smooth finish. The wine is holding up well.

December 5, 2012 - Getting better with age. Still plenty of cherry fruit flavors that are well integrated with a touch of oak. Smooth finish. Drink up if holding.

Washington Wine Report

  • By Sean Sullivan
    9/10/2009 (link) ***** points

(Five Star Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) n absolutely beautiful, evolving nose with black cherry, light earth, spices, anise, chocolate, and pleasing barrel notes. As the wine opens, cocoa powder and light herbal notes show through. Dances on the palate with a smooth entry with lots of fruit. Opens up and hangs on the finish. An exceptional wine. 95% Cabernet; 5%, Merlot. 14.2% alcohol. 950 cases produced.
