April 27, 2024 - Dinner at B&A: Blind. Palest straw. Lovely bright nose, minerally and saline. Served cold. As it warms, a more pronounced white fruit character and associated florality emerges. Initial thought was a riper vintage Chablis but we’re firmly in Puligny 1er cru territory now. A really interesting pairing with the 2016 where initially the 15 feels tauter and more classical but opens with air to show more richly. Little moves from a previous encounter a couple of years ago. ****

June 17, 2022 - Drinking quite well for the vintage. Acidity works fine keeping fruit in check. Would drink quite swiftly.

June 11, 2022 - Blind. Pale to mid straw. An intriguing combination of florality, minerality and sunny fruit. Full but elegant. White fruit and energy pointing at Puligny, and 1er Cru, and the weight suggests 15, 16 or 18. It’s a fuller expression, and what turns out to be the 16 alongside has more line, cut and energy, but it’s a lovely drink. ****

August 22, 2020 - Served double blind. Green fruit on the nose, no reduction. Very initially on the palate there's a touch of roundness but it then turns linear and precise, with a bit of chalk and a touch of aloe vera. This has very good depth, clearly 1er cru. A very good bottle. Called this a 2017 Carillon 1er (one of Perriers or Referts), though the initial broadness really should have led me to 2015 (I've not yet had the 18s). Either way, when you drink so much Carillon you can recognize it blind, you know you have some good problems :)

April 20, 2019 - Full on the palate for this wine, with less cut than typical. Good in the context of the vintage. 91-92
