February 9, 2023 - Incredible and profound fruit, very polished, posh and superb quality. Of course way to early but a wine that is accessible and the depth, precision and quality is fantastic. 2016 vintage lives up its reputation here

December 6, 2022 - Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Dense and young. This needs time. Best after 2035.

September 10, 2022 - In rememberance of Her Majesty, at dinner at home in London we drank one of Bordeaux’s greats - Chateau Palmer. Yes I know 2016 isn’t 1926 but it is supposed to be a 98 pointer…just sayin’. This bottle was a little sleepier than the ethereal one we had in the summer, but could be due to the longer decanting time whilst prepping dinner. Lot’s of dark plum fruit and hints of chocolate. Some fennel seed. Quite muted nose. 95/100. Paired with grilled flat iron steak and sweet corn succotash. God Save the King.

July 4, 2022 - This was decanted for an hour but really opened up at the 90 minute mark. Super polished dark chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, cedar, and mint with a loooong finish. The red fruit and mint notes shone through with more time. Still young but surprisingly open with air and velvety tannins. Possibly the best or at least one of the best young Bordeaux I’ve had. 97/100.

April 1, 2022 - Ch. Palmer dinner with winemaker Thomas Duroux (Jeffrey's, Austin, TX): 97-100. What an elegant, stunning, young Bordeaux. Absolutely standout in its purity. Given how the 1991 from an "off" vintage drank at 31 years of age, I can only imagine how great this will become. My rating reflects where I think this wine will go. Tonight, I'd say it was my #2 of 5 Palmer vintages on the night, behind the fully mature 1991. But it should approach perfection with time.
