May 27, 2022 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, black plum, currant, cocoa and forest floor. Red and black fruit, cocoa, forest floor and spice on the palate. Long finish. Full bodied. Served with grilled black bean burgers and chipotle aioli.

May 13, 2021 - Fabulous Cab Francs at Shears Grotto (Shear's Grotto): Darker fruits with a touch of band-aid and saline aspect. Fantastic on the palate, outshines how it presented on the nose. Smooth as silk. Sad to see this winery will no longer be producing wine. Delicious Cab Franc. My 5/6 and the Group's 5/6

February 15, 2021 - Nose of blackberry, black plum, currant, cocoa powder and underbrush. Black fruit, cocoa, forest floor and ripe juicy tannins on the palate. Very long finish. Full bodied. A very nice wine.

July 16, 2019 - This medium to full-bodied wine sees nearly three years in oak. In the glass, it is a dark ruby. It shares a nose and palate of black cherry, violets and tobacco. It lacks -- in a good way -- the herbaceous and even green pepper-like notes that I so often find in other Cab Francs. It's finish, however, is extremely tannic; accordingly, I would put this away in your cellar for at least 5 and maybe 10 years, or decant it for a extended time now, before tasting it.
